Trump Dismisses Leaked U.S.-Iran Deal Details, Accuses Tehran of Lacking 'Good Faith'
U.S. President Donald Trump dismissed the reported details of the agreement published by Iran, stating that the leaked points bear no resemblance to the actual written terms finalized between both sides and accusing the country of lacking “good faith.”
The 14-point draft framework published earlier by Iranian media outlines a preliminary roadmap to freeze regional hostilities and initiate a 60-day negotiation window on Tehran's nuclear program.
The draft includes an immediate cessation of military actions in Lebanon, the lifting of the U.S. naval blockade, and the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets alongside a suspension of oil export sanctions.
The initial memorandum imposes no immediate new nuclear obligations on Iran and permanently excludes discussions regarding its ballistic missile program or regional alliances from future talks.
“The terms that Iran leaked out to the Fake News have NOTHING to do with the terms that were agreed to, in writing. What they said, including their weak and pathetic statement on having a deal, bears no relation to the truth,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday.
“Very dishonorable people to deal with. With them, there is no such thing as dealing in good faith,” he added.
He warned that the Hormuz Strait remaining closed is “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE,” adding that, “They better get their act together, and FAST!”
Trump Halts Planned Military Strikes on Iran as Deal Nears Finalization
Amid escalating tensions in recent days and exchanging waves of strikes, Trump threatened earlier today that the United States is yet to strike against Iran “VERY HARD.”
But later, he abandoned the planned attack, highlighting that the deal's final details have been approved by all involved nations, including the U.S., Israel, and key regional partners.
Iran Dismisses Reports on Timing and Venue of Potential Deal Signing
In the meantime, Iranian state broadcaster IRIB reported that any potential U.S.–Iran agreement remains under internal review, with no final decision yet reached.
Officials stated that every detail must be approved before a deal can be confirmed, dismissing current reports regarding the timing and venue of a potential signing ceremony as mere media speculation.
