The University of Sulaimani has taken a significant step toward internationalization, becoming the first university in the Kurdistan Region to obtain ISO certification for administrative standardization.

First University in the Kurdistan Region to Achieve ISO Certification

Kosar Mohammed, President of the University of Sulaimani, announced during a press conference that the university has successfully obtained international ISO certification for standardization and administrative management.

With this achievement, the University of Sulaimani becomes the first higher education institution in the Kurdistan Region to hold this global administrative credential.

Standardized Administrative Management System

The President of the University of Sulaimani stated that the institution’s administrative operations are now conducted according to strict international standards. The newly implemented system emphasizes transparency, accountability, precise role definition, and continuous monitoring.

In addition, intensive internal reviews were recently carried out to correct previous administrative errors and fully align procedures with global benchmarks.

Boosting University Rankings and International Standing

The certification was achieved after one year of continuous preparation and is not considered an overnight accomplishment, according to Kosar Mohammed.

The President emphasized that obtaining ISO certification will serve as a key factor in improving the University of Sulaimani’s ranking at both national and international levels.
