School Greening Initiative Underway
As part of cooperation between the Sulaymaniyah Gardens Directorate and the West Sulaymaniyah Directorate of Education, a new project has been launched to beautify and green school environments.
In its first phase, the Gardens Directorate will provide trees to more than 40 schools across the West Sulaymaniyah education sector to increase green areas within educational institutions.
Turning Dried and Fallen Trees into Educational Resources
The second joint project focuses on removing dried and damaged trees. After being cut down, the wood is transferred to vocational schools, where students and teachers repurpose it for craftsmanship, artistic activities, and school festivals.
The timber will also be used as raw material to produce desks, chairs, and small tables to meet classroom needs.
