During its 281st meeting, the Shia Coordination Framework stressed the need to accelerate the formation of Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi’s cabinet and reviewed recent discussions with the U.S. President’s new team.

The 281st Meeting of the Coordination Framework

Last night, the parties of the Coordination Framework convened at the office of Humam Hamoudi, leader of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq.

The meeting, attended by Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, reviewed the latest political, security, and economic developments in the country.

Talks Between al-Zaidi and Tom Barrack

During the session, al-Zaidi presented the outcomes of his meeting with Tom Barrack, the special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, to members of the Coordination Framework.

Al-Zaidi stated that the discussions focused on issues related to the Iraqi government and strengthening foreign relations in a way that preserves Iraq’s supreme national interests and sovereignty.

Urging Completion of the Ministerial Cabinet

A significant part of the meeting was devoted to completing the formation of the Iraqi ministerial cabinet.

Coordination Framework factions emphasized that this constitutional obligation must be expedited, as it will enhance government performance, ensure the implementation of the ministerial program, and meet citizens’ demands.

National Stability and Government Program

The Iraqi Prime Minister reaffirmed during the meeting that maintaining stability and strengthening international relations remain key priorities.

The Coordination Framework expressed its full support for completing all parts of the government program so that state institutions can operate at full capacity.
