KRG PM Masrour Barzani Honors Halabja’s Humanitarian Efforts Following Tourist Tragedy
Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani expressed gratitude to the people of Halabja Governorate and Hawraman for their efforts in recovering the body of a young tourist from Karbala while also directing authorities to strengthen safety measures following a rise in recent drowning incidents.
Prime Minister Commends Humanitarian Efforts in Halabja and Hawraman
In a statement, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani extended his appreciation to the people of Halabja Governorate and Hawraman for what he described as their dedicated and humanitarian efforts over recent days to locate the body of Ruqaya, a young tourist from Karbala who lost her life.
He said the tireless work and contribution shown throughout the search reflected the humanitarian values and generosity long associated with the people of Kurdistan.
The Prime Minister also specifically praised the Governor of Halabja, security forces, civil defense teams, volunteers, and everyone involved in the recovery operation.
Condolences Extended to the Victim’s Family
Masrour Barzani expressed his deepest condolences and sympathies to Ruqaya’s family and relatives.
He prayed for Almighty God to grant mercy to the deceased and provide patience and comfort to her loved ones.
Government Directed to Strengthen Safety Measures
Addressing a recent increase in drowning incidents, the Prime Minister instructed the relevant government institutions to tighten safety regulations and precautionary measures at tourist destinations.
He stressed that particular attention should be given to rivers, dams, and water areas to prevent further tragedies.
The statement also included an appeal to citizens and tourists to comply with safety instructions and remain attentive to their own safety and that of their families.
The Prime Minister concluded by praying for the protection and safety of all.
