PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani received Iraqi National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji in Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah, on Thursday for talks on security cooperation, regional developments, and efforts to strengthen stability in Iraq.

Security Developments and Coordination

The meeting focused on the latest security developments and military dynamics across Iraq. Also attending the discussions were Jalal Sheikh Naji, Head of the Protection and Information Agency (Zanyari), and Hiwa Ahmed, Head of the Kurdistan Region Security Agency (Asayish).

Both sides reviewed the current security situation and stressed the importance of continued cooperation and coordination between the security institutions of the Kurdistan Region and the federal government to confront potential threats and preserve stability.

Talabani Commends Al-Araji’s Efforts

During the talks, Talabani praised al-Araji’s role in strengthening security and maintaining stability throughout Iraq. He described the National Security Advisor as a dedicated public servant working with loyalty and a strong sense of national responsibility.

Support for Regional Stability

The discussions also addressed broader regional developments. Both sides welcomed the recent historic agreement between the United States and Iran, expressing hope that the understanding would contribute to enhanced stability, security, and dialogue across the region.
