Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Nizar Amedi, the President of Iraq, in Dabashan. During the meeting, they discussed the latest political, economic, and security developments at both the domestic and regional levels.

Both sides emphasized the critical need for continuous dialogue and mutual understanding among all political factions in order to preserve stability across the country.

Erbil–Baghdad Outstanding Issues

The meeting also addressed the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad.

Both leaders underscored that these disputes must be resolved strictly on the basis of the Iraqi Constitution, ensuring that all efforts remain aligned with the public interest and aimed at better serving the people. They firmly stressed that political rivalries should not negatively affect the daily lives of citizens.

International Relations and Regional Stability

Regarding international relations, both sides viewed the agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran as highly significant.

They noted its positive direction toward defusing tensions and resolving regional issues through peaceful diplomacy and constructive dialogue.
