Preparations for the largest national festival in Sulaymaniyah have entered their final stage. With the participation of more than 260 companies and a wide range of activities, the gates of “Suli Fest” are set to open to citizens and tourists alike.

Festival Launch Date and Duration

The national “Suli Fest” festival will officially begin on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Hawari Shar Park in Sulaymaniyah.

Recognized as the largest event of its kind in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, the festival will continue for eight days, welcoming visitors daily from 4:00 PM until 12:00 AM.

Corporate Participation and Diverse Activities

Final preparations have been completed, with more than 260 companies participating across different sectors.

Shkar Ata, the festival coordinator, stated that the program includes activities spanning cultural, educational, social, economic, and commercial fields.

The festival will feature artistic performances, live concerts, handicrafts, and a variety of activities designed for all age groups and segments of society.

Tourism Goals and Promoting Sulaymaniyah

Shanaz Amir, Director of Sulaymaniyah Tourism, stated that one of the main objectives of “Suli Fest” is to attract the largest possible number of tourists from central and southern Iraq to Sulaymaniyah Governorate.

The initiative is intended to support Sulaymaniyah’s efforts to officially obtain the title of Tourism City and ensure the continuation of such events in the coming years to revitalize the city’s tourism sector.

Charity Campaign and Official Media Coverage

In addition to its artistic and commercial activities, the festival also carries a humanitarian mission through a fundraising campaign organized in support of Hiwa Cancer Hospital.

Channel8 has been designated as the official media partner and will provide continuous coverage of all “Suli Fest” activities until the festival concludes on July 3.
