Iraq, U.S. Discuss Regional Developments and Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation in Baghdad Meeting
Iraq’s new National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi met with U.S. Charge d’Affaires Joshua Harris in Baghdad on Tuesday to review regional and international developments and discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

According to a statement from the Media Office of the National Security Advisor, Qasim al-Aboudi received Joshua Harris, Charge d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, where both sides reviewed the overall situation at the regional and international levels, along with the latest developments in the region.
The two officials also discussed strengthening friendship and cooperation between Iraq and the United States in a manner that serves mutual interests.
Iraq’s Position on Relations and Regional Stability
Al-Aboudi emphasized that Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi is keen on openness and building strong and constructive relations with friendly countries and the international community based on mutual interests.
He reaffirmed Iraq’s firm stance on regional and international issues, stressing support for peaceful approaches that ensure security, stability, and prosperity for nations and peoples.
U.S. Position
For his part, Harris reaffirmed the United States’ support for the Iraqi government and its commitment to the success of its mandate across all levels.
He also congratulated al-Aboudi on assuming his position and wished him success in his new responsibilities.
