Iraq and Turkey Discuss Expanding Banking and Financial Cooperation
The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Nizar Nasser Hussein, met with Turkish Ambassador to Iraq Anil Bora Inan in Baghdad on Monday to discuss strengthening financial and banking cooperation and enhancing economic ties between the two countries.
Talks Focus on Banking and Trade Cooperation
According to the Central Bank of Iraq Media, the meeting reviewed bilateral relations between Baghdad and Ankara, with both sides exploring ways to deepen cooperation in the financial and economic sectors.
Discussions also focused on addressing challenges affecting trade between Iraq and Turkey and improving banking procedures to facilitate commercial activity.
Turkey Reaffirms Commitment to Bilateral Relations
During the meeting, Ambassador Anıl Bora İnan reiterated Turkey's commitment to expanding its partnership with Iraq, stressing Ankara's interest in strengthening cooperation in the banking sector and other financial fields.
He emphasized Turkey's desire to further develop bilateral relations in a way that serves the interests of both countries.
Central Bank Highlights Investment Opportunities
Governor Nizar Nasser Hussein reaffirmed the Central Bank of Iraq's readiness to coordinate with Turkish counterparts and provide the necessary support to advance joint initiatives.
He said Iraq's financial sector is prepared to facilitate promising investment and financial projects that would contribute to economic growth and strengthen cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
