The Coordination Framework met to strengthen anti-corruption efforts and align parliamentary actions with judicial oversight, while also discussing preparations for the funeral of the late Iranian Supreme Leader.

The leaders of the Framework convened at the office of the Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, which was attended by Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zidan. Discussions centered on national developments and strengthening ongoing anti-corruption initiatives.

The leaders “renewed their support for governmental and judicial measures to fight the pandemic of corruption and stop the waste of public funds.”

Launched by al-Zaidi following oil sector fraud confessions, Operation Dawn Crackdown is an initiative that has resulted in the arrests of dozens of politicians, lawmakers, and senior officials alongside the massive seizure of stolen state assets.

As the recess ended and parliament opened its second legislative term yesterday, the Coordination Framework emphasized that parliament “must move toward activating oversight mechanisms in alignment with governmental and judicial steps, alongside intensifying efforts to pass important laws.”

The Coordination Framework also reviewed the ongoing state and public preparations for the funeral of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as his body is scheduled to arrive at Najaf Airport today.
