The National Security Service said the suspect identified himself as a war correspondent to conceal his alleged involvement in international drug trafficking.

According to the agency, the arrest was carried out as part of ongoing intelligence operations targeting drug trafficking networks.

Drugs Transported to Baghdad

The National Security Service said the suspect used his claimed journalistic identity to move narcotics between provinces before transporting them to Baghdad, where they were allegedly distributed to other traffickers.

Forged Documents Seized

Authorities said they confiscated narcotics found in the suspect's possession, along with several forged identification cards that were allegedly used during his movements.

111,000 Captagon Pills Confiscated

Security teams in Dhi Qar province arrested the suspect while he was in possession of 111,000 Captagon pills and a weapon, according to the National Security Service.
