Islamic Resistance in Iraq Reaffirms Commitment to Arms, Calls on Government to Follow Its Decisions
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has reiterated that it will not relinquish its weapons under any circumstances. Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of Kata'ib Hezbollah called on the Iraqi government to follow the group's decisions and reaffirmed its commitment to its current course.
Commitment to Maintaining and Developing Military Capabilities
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq said it will not give up its weapons and will continue to strengthen its military and security capabilities while enhancing the operational readiness of its forces.
In a statement issued late Friday, the group said its weapons are not open to negotiation, describing them as a core principle and a sacred responsibility.
Response to Regional Threats
The group said it intends to expand its capabilities both quantitatively and qualitatively in response to what it described as threats posed by Israel and the United States, to safeguard its position.
Kata'ib Hezbollah's Message to the Government
Abu Hussein al-Hamidawi, Secretary-General of Kata'ib Hezbollah, called on the Iraqi government to follow the Resistance's decisions.
He also said Kata'ib Hezbollah was established under the guidance of Iran's late Supreme Leader and stated that the group's members remain committed to that path and will continue their mission.
Funeral Attendance Described as Public Support
Al-Hamidawi said the large turnout at the recent funeral ceremonies for Iran's late Supreme Leader represented a popular endorsement of the Islamic Resistance.
He claimed the gathering demonstrated public support for the group's path and for retaining its weapons.
