Iraq’s Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court, in coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), has successfully recovered 358 kilograms of gold linked to the high-profile corruption case of Adnan al-Jumaili.

The Supreme Judicial Council announced on Monday that a total of 375 kilograms of gold has been seized in connection with ongoing investigative cases.

The operations were conducted under the direct supervision of the President of the Council, Judge Dr. Faiq Zidan.

According to the statement, out of the total assets confiscated, 375 kilograms of gold were recovered in coordination with the Kurdistan Region.

The Council confirmed that the recovered gold has been officially transferred to the Central Bank of Iraq, where the quantities were formally received by the Director General of the Issuance and Treasury Department and his deputy.

Iraq Uncovers Billions in Cash Caches and 70 Luxury Properties

Adnan al-Jumaili serves as the primary focus of one of Iraq's largest anti-corruption crackdowns. Following his arrest on May 29, judicial authorities launched a massive campaign to dismantle widespread financial fraud, bribery, and embezzlement networks within the nation's energy sector.

In a series of sweeping raids across Baghdad and Tikrit, Iraqi judicial authorities have uncovered massive cash reserves and luxury assets tied to the network of al-Jumaili.

In addition to the seized gold, total cash recoveries have reached 127 billion Iraqi dinars and 24 million US dollars. This includes 25 billion dinars concealed inside plastic water jugs and 14 billion dinars buried within a stormwater drainage system.

Furthermore, the court has ordered the seizure of over 70 high-end real estate properties and multiple luxury vehicles as part of the ongoing asset recovery process.
