In its first semi-annual report of the year, the Iraqi Commission of Integrity announced that arrest and summons warrants have been issued for more than a hundred high-ranking officials, while nearly 500 suspects were caught red-handed and hundreds of new cases were opened against corrupt fugitives.
The commission published its performance and activities report for the first six months of 2026, announcing that arrest and summons warrants have been issued for 155 high-ranking officials.
Commission Executes 901 Asset Orders and Arrests 471 Suspects
Detailing its enforcement actions during this period, the Iraqi Commission of Integrity reported executing 901 seizure and asset-tracking orders, issuing 436 administrative penalties, and apprehending 471 individuals caught in the act of committing crimes.
355 Overseas Fugitives and Collecting 40,000+ Wealth Disclosures
Regarding cross-border financial crimes, the Commission of Integrity announced that 355 special cases have been opened targeting fugitives who fled the country after illicitly transferring funds abroad.
The commission further reported that 40,567 officials and public servants submitted their mandatory financial disclosures.
555 State Inspections to Fix Systemic Issues
On institutional oversight, the commission conducted 555 inspection visits to state bodies over the six-month period, compiling 34 detailed reports that analyze operational methods, identify systemic issues, and propose corrective solutions.
