Iraqi PM Leaves Letter at White House Outlining New Economic Partnership
On Tuesday, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Zaidi arrived in Washington on his first official foreign trip since forming his new cabinet. At the White House, he met with U.S. President Donald Trump in what observers describe as a new chapter in bilateral relations in the post-war era.
The Iraqi Prime Minister’s office released footage highlighting Zaidi’s visit, including a moment where he signed the White House guest book. In his written message, Zaidi outlined the main purpose of his trip to the United States.
Zaidi emphasized that the visit represents a formal declaration of economic partnership between Baghdad and Washington, aimed at serving the interests of both nations. He also extended congratulations to the American people on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
In his guest book note, Zaidi wrote: "In the name of God, the Most Merciful, today I am honored to visit the White House at the invitation of His Excellency President Donald Trump. This visit represents the announcement of economic partnership between our two countries in a way that serves both our great peoples. I am also pleased, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of independence, to extend congratulations to the people of the United States."
