Kuwait and Bahrain Report Intercepting Iranian Aerial Attacks
Kuwait and Bahrain said on Wednesday that their air defense systems intercepted Iranian aerial attacks after Tehran launched strikes targeting U.S. military assets in the Gulf amid escalating tensions over the Strait of Hormuz.
The Kuwaiti military announced that it intercepted multiple attack drones, accusing Iran of carrying out the assault and describing it as an act of aggression.
Bahrain's armed forces also confirmed the interception and destruction of several incoming aerial threats. Earlier in the day, the Interior Ministry activated warning sirens and urged citizens and residents to remain calm and seek the nearest safe location.
Iran Says U.S. Bases Were Targeted
Iranian state media reported that Tehran launched separate attacks against U.S. military targets in Kuwait and the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain in response to recent U.S. strikes on Iran.
The exchanges come as tensions continue to rise over control of the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
