Al-Zaidi Denounces ‘Malicious’ Erbil Drone Attack, Orders Security Coordination
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi denounced the "malicious" drone attack on Erbil, ordering security agencies to coordinate with Kurdistan Region forces to prevent future strikes and apprehend those targeting Iraqi stability.
Eight drones were launched toward Erbil, targeting both the international coalition base and the airport on Wednesday night.
According to the Counter-Terrorism General Directorate (CTD) in Erbil, the explosive-laden drones over the city's airspace were intercepted and neutralized by the air defense system.
No casualties have been reported from the strikes.
The attack comes amid escalating regional friction between Washington and Tehran in recent days.
