Baha al-Araji, Head of the Parliamentary Reconstruction and Development Bloc in the Iraqi Parliament, stated that the targeting of Erbil with drone strikes carries "entirely unacceptable political messages," calling for national unity to protect Iraqi stability.

“Targeting the city of Erbil tonight carries negative and entirely unacceptable political messages,” al-Araji said in a statement.

Eight bomb-laden drones targeting the international coalition base and Erbil International Airport on Wednesday night were successfully intercepted and neutralized by air defense systems, resulting in zero casualties.

The strikes occurred amid escalating military conflict and deepening tensions between the United States and Iran, following a series of hundreds of drone and missile attacks previously targeting both military and civilian infrastructure across the Kurdistan Region.

Al-Araji: Erbil Attacks Serve No One’s Interests

al-Araji stressed that the attacks come “at a critical time that serves no one's interests.”

“At this delicate stage, national responsibility demands unifying the ranks and coalescing the stance to confront the current challenges and preserve the country's stability,” he added.
