In the ongoing investigation into one of Iraq's largest corruption cases, the Anti-Corruption Court has seized an additional 25 billion Iraqi dinars and 4 kilograms of gold. The assets were found hidden inside the walls of homes belonging to individuals close to Adnan al-Jumaili.

Cash Unearthed from Wall Cavities

The Media Office of the Supreme Judicial Council announced that the investigating judge of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court has ordered the seizure of another batch of cash and gold tied to the case of Adnan al-Jumaili, the former Undersecretary Minister of Oil.

In this latest raid, recovery teams uncovered 25 billion IQD, $200,000 USD, and 4 kilograms of gold, which had been meticulously concealed inside the walls and residences of several associates.

This high-profile case has yielded bizarre discoveries. Investigators previously recovered 67 billion IQD buried four meters underground at a residential property.

Furthermore, during their arrest, al-Jumaili's wife and brother reportedly attempted to burn $5 million USD and billions of dinars inside a traditional clay bread oven (tanour) in an effort to destroy the evidence. Security forces intervened and seized the cash before it could be entirely incinerated.

Official Statistics of al-Jumaili's Case

According to the latest figures released by the Anti-Corruption Court, the total assets seized in this case have now reached 123 billion IQD and more than $11 million USD in cash.

In addition to the physical currency, authorities have confiscated 7.5 kilograms of gold, 71 high-value real estate properties across Baghdad, Erbil, and Salah al-Din, and a significant cache of various weapons and ammunition.

Confessions made by Adnan al-Jumaili have significantly expanded the scope of the investigation, implicating several other high-ranking officials.

Among those recently detained is Raed al-Jubouri, the former Governor of Salah al-Din, who also previously served as the province's Director of Health.

Al-Jubouri, a physician and politician, is accused of involvement in corruption schemes related to hospital construction and public service projects. Authorities expect further high-profile revelations as the investigation continues to unfold.
