Representatives of the Imrali delegation and Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) held a closed-door meeting to discuss the ongoing peace process and a draft bill related to the initiative.

Closed-Door Meeting

According to media outlets close to the DEM Party, the Imrali delegation met with an AKP delegation on Wednesday night.

Neither side has issued an official statement regarding the time, location, or agenda of the meeting.

The Imrali delegation included veteran politicians Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar. The AKP was represented by Abdullah Guler, chairman of the party's parliamentary group, and Efkan Ala, the party's deputy chairman.

Focus on the Peace Process

The meeting centered on the peace process, which began in late October 2024 and remains ongoing.

Discussions focused on a draft bill prepared by the AKP concerning the peace framework and the repatriation process for PKK members.

Turkish media had previously reported that the text of the draft legislation would be formally presented to the İmralı delegation during the meeting. However, this has not been officially confirmed or denied.
