A source in the Ministry of Peshmerga stated that, despite security agreements between Erbil and Baghdad, no radars or air defense systems have been provided to counter the attacks.

A high-level Iraqi security delegation led by Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, visited the Kurdistan Region on June 14.

During the meeting, an agreement was reached to formulate a robust plan to protect oil companies and put an end to targeting them, with the purpose of paving the way for resuming the work of these companies and restarting the Kurdistan Region's oil exports, which currently remain halted.

However, more than a month has passed since the agreement to protect the oil fields, yet Baghdad has not deployed any type of defense system.

International oil companies operating in Kurdistan conditioned the resumption of oil production on receiving security guarantees from Baghdad, as they refused to restart exports until the government provided assurances against drone strikes.

Coalition Shields Kurdistan Energy as Dual Threats Intensify

According to the source, only a few oil companies possess warning radar systems that sound alarms during danger, while on the military front, only the Coalition's defense system is operating to intercept drones.

Based on data from the Ministry of Peshmerga, attacks targeting the Kurdistan Region are divided into two distinct categories.

The first involves military strikes launched by Iran against the bases and headquarters of Iranian Kurdish opposition forces.

The second comprises separate assaults by regional armed groups specifically targeting International Coalition forces and their command centers.

Kurdistan Energy Operations Suspended Amid Escalating Attacks

The delay comes as the Kurdistan Region faces an escalating barrage of drone and missile strikes targeting critical energy infrastructure and military bases.

Following ongoing threats, international oil firms have halted operations, with Dana Gas announcing a complete, temporary suspension at its strategic Sulaymaniyah's Khor Mor gas field within the Kurdistan Region.

The natural gas company stated that the halt is a precautionary measure to protect its staff and facilities in response to credible security threats.
