According to a statement from the Turkish Ministry of Interior, a large-scale operation was carried out across 81 provinces to arrest irregular migrants and individuals involved in human trafficking.

355 Migrants and 25 Traffickers Detained

As stated in the announcement, "355 migrants and 25 human traffickers were detained and handed over to deportation centers to be returned to their home countries."

Statistics on Migrant Arrests from the Past Year

According to official Turkish statistics, 152,000 migrants and 10,883 traffickers were arrested last year, 42,202 of whom were Afghan nationals.

Data from the Turkish Ministry of Interior shows that over the past five years, 1,110,991 migrants have been detained.
