Al-Sadr Calls for Ban on Ghaith al-Tamimi After Remarks on Israel
Muqtada al-Sadr, leader of the National Shiite Movement, has called for Ghaith al-Tamimi to be barred from appearing on Iraqi television channels, accusing him of betraying religious and national values following comments praising Israel.
Al-Sadr Responds to Television Remarks
Al-Sadr's comments came in response to a question from one of his followers regarding statements made by Ghaith al-Tamimi during a television appearance, in which al-Tamimi praised Israel and sharply criticized Palestinian officials.
In his response, al-Sadr described al-Tamimi as "misguided" and accused him of serving the enemies of God, His Prophet, and the homeland. He also called on al-Tamimi's tribe to publicly disown him and urged that he be prevented from appearing on any Iraqi satellite channel.
Al-Sadr further alleged that al-Tamimi had abandoned his religious principles in pursuit of personal fame and financial gain, adding that no one should engage or interact with him.
