U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the leaders of China and Russia have personally assured him they will not supply weapons to Iran, warning that any future involvement would be "very bad" for both nations.

U.S. intelligence analysts are investigating whether Russia provided targeting data or advanced drone technology to assist Iran in recent strikes against CIA facilities in the Gulf, Reuters reported Wednesday.

According to the report, U.S. officials have not yet confirmed Russian involvement in the CIA facility attacks, but suspect it due to the strikes' precision and Moscow's broader technical support for Iran.

Trump: Xi, Putin Pledge Not to Arm Iran 

“President Xi, at our recent meeting in Beijing, China, told me that he would not, under any circumstances, give or sell weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran — and that statement included Chinese companies,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday.

“Considering our relationship, I take him at his word and, besides, I am doing him very big favors, also,” he added.

Trump stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin also has assured him Moscow will not sell weapons to Iran.

Trump stressed that Putin “understands that I do not sell weapons to Ukraine, but to NATO countries. They pay full price, and how those weapons are distributed, I have no idea.”

Trump Warns Against Arming Iran 

He emphasized that, in his view, two of the major global powers frequently linked to Iran are not “participating” in arming the country.

“If they did, it would be very bad for them — certainly not in their best interests,” he added.

U.S.-Iran War Escalates Amid New Push for Peace Talks 

U.S. forces have carried out a 13th consecutive night of airstrikes against Iranian facilities, amid ongoing retaliatory drone attacks targeting U.S. military bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani source told Reuters that Islamabad is exploring a path to resume stalled U.S.-Iran conflict talks following a diplomatic push initiated by China.
