The Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces has ordered the establishment of a new security apparatus tasked with overseeing all ministries and intelligence agencies.

According to a classified document issued by the executive office, Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi is opening the "Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces" within Baghdad's Green Zone. 

This structural reform is part of an ongoing initiative to reorganize the nation’s military hierarchy. 

The directive has been finalized to dissolve the Joint Operations Command (JOC), the Office of the Personal Secretary to the Commander-in-Chief, and the National Operations Center (NOC). 

New Green Zone Office Absorbs Iraq's Top Security Agencies 

These three senior institutions will be consolidated under the newly formed office, with central headquarters stationed in the Green Zone.

The newly established office will absorb all operational mandates of the dissolved entities. 

Furthermore, it will exercise direct oversight over the Ministries of Interior and Defense, the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS), the National Intelligence Service, National Security, the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Committee, and the Border Ports Authority. 

Iraq Centralizes Military Command Structure 

Under these revised regulatory protocols, all integrated military and security commands are formally subordinated to the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. 

This consolidation places all state security branches under a unified operational umbrella, centralizing the chain of command directly within the prime minister's executive office.
