The first edition of the Kurdish Book Fair has begun at Family Mall in Slemani and will continue for nine days.

More than 45 publishing and distribution centers are taking part in the event, presenting tens of thousands of book titles to visitors.

Most of the books presented at the fair are newly published works, giving visitors access to a broad selection of recent Kurdish publications.

The fair is open to visitors until 11:00 PM throughout its nine-day run.

Organizers have placed particular emphasis on Kurdish identity, heritage, and the preservation of the Kurdish language through literature and publishing.

Rawaz Hamasalih said Kurdish books serve as a foundation for language and identity, describing them as an important resource for intellectual development, preservation, and thinking about the future.
