FYI

The Kurdistan Region has endured an intense wave of hostility since a direct regional conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran broke out in late February 2026.

According to security tracking by local agencies, nearly 1,000 drones and missiles have targeted Kurdistan since the conflict intensified.

Today's attacks sparked a wave of condemnation by Kurdish and Iraqi leaders and officials, labeling it as an attack on stability and sovereignty.

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani said the attacks are “completely unacceptable and represent a dangerous escalation.”

KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani condemned the attacks as “reckless” and a direct threat to the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region.

Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani also called them a “dangerous violation of Iraq’s sovereignty,” reaffirming the Region’s clear and peace-seeking stance amid regional tensions.
