Channel8 has learned that the ICAA has notified all airports of the decision to suspend Iranian airlines' flights after Baghdad enforced the U.S. flight ban.

The suspension of flights between Iraq and Iran is scheduled to take effect on the 23rd of this month.

The directive has also reached the airports of the Kurdistan Region.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Hoshyar, the Director of Erbil International Airport, told Channel8: "Until now, we have not received any directive to suspend the flights of those airlines."

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told CNBC that all Iranian airlines will face a complete global shutdown by September 23.

He added that providing landing assistance, refueling, or ticket sales to these aircraft would trigger immediate exclusion from the U.S. dollar financial system.

Following Bessent’s statements, an Iraqi official told AFP that Baghdad will enforce the flight ban on Iranian airlines at dawn on Tuesday in compliance with the U.S. Treasury directive.

Another source also warned that nations failing to implement the directive risk facing secondary sanctions.
