Muhammad Haseeb, director of the Slemani Oil and Minerals Directorate, told Channel8 that maintenance work will begin on Friday and is expected to continue for approximately 20 days. Officials said sufficient gas reserves are available to support supplies during the maintenance period.
Khor Mor supplies gas to 85% of the Roonaki electricity project, making its production an important source for power generation in the region.
Khor Mor Gas Field
The Khor Mor gas field is located in the Qadir Karam subdistrict of Chamchamal district in Slemani Governorate. Production began in 2008, and the field is operated by Pearl Petroleum, a consortium of five energy companies. The field produces natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, also known as household gas, and gas condensate.

Khor Mor has previously faced disruptions following missile and drone strikes targeting the field. Those incidents halted production and affected electricity generation across the Kurdistan Region.
The scheduled maintenance is separate from those earlier disruptions and is intended to temporarily reduce output while work is carried out at the field.
