Teachers on strike in Sulaymaniyah, Koya, and other parts of the governorate, as well as in Halabja, protested in demand of their salaries overdue from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

Teachers on strike in Sulaymaniyah, Koya, and other parts of the governorate, as well as in Halabja, protested in demand of their salaries overdue from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

Teachers have been on strike since September 2023 in demand of the distribution of their salaries, for the government to renew promotions of teachers, and for the issuance of contracts for non-contract teachers.
