The Integrity Commission in Iraq has urged the Kurdistan Region’s Integrity Commission to collaborate on disclosing the financial information of local officials

The commission said that it has signed an agreement with the Kurdistan Region to prevent the misuse of public funds.

Haidar Hanoun, head of the Iraqi commission, said that the commission has successfully recovered over $1 million in cash.

“We have successfully recovered over $1.5 million and approximately 1 billion Iraqi dinars in cash, preventing it from being wasted,” said Hanoun.

He further added that the commission has drafted an agreement to coordinate joint efforts with the Kurdistan Region’s Integrity Commission.

Hanoun emphasized that he has urged the Kurdistan Region’s commission to aid in issuing arrest warrants and disclosing financial information of officials, enabling federal authorities to conduct audits similar to those for other officials.
