Tourist numbers surge in Kurdistan region, aim for 20 million annual visitors

The Kurdistan Region Government’s Tourism Committee spokesperson, Ibrahim Abdulmajid, reported a staggering 1.5 million tourist influx in the past three months.

Highlighting the region’s diverse appeal, Abdulmajid emphasized not only its allure for spring and summer tourism but also its burgeoning winter tourism sector, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors.

Earlier, Amal Jalal, head of the Kurdistan Regional Tourism Committee, unveiled plans for the future, aiming to welcome a remarkable 20 million tourists annually, underpinned by comprehensive long- and medium-term strategies.
