The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) reported on Tuesday that approximately 250,000 people have been affected following a new evacuation order issued by the Israeli military for parts of southern Gaza.

UNRWA spokeswoman Louise Wateridge, speaking to reporters in Geneva via video link from Gaza, described the scene as families began to pack their belongings and move out of the area.

“We’ve seen people moving, families moving, people starting to pack up their belongings and try to leave this area,” Wateridge stated, emphasizing the significant impact of the evacuation orders on the population.
