July Exports Reach 175,000 Barrels Per Day
Information obtained by Channel8 shows that the combined average oil exports from the Kurdistan Region and Kirkuk reached 175,000 barrels per day during July.
The majority of the exported oil came from fields in the Kurdistan Region, accounting for 115,000 barrels per day, while 60,000 barrels per day originated from Kirkuk.
According to the information, Kirkuk's total oil production stands at 328,000 barrels per day, with a significant share allocated to domestic consumption and local refineries.
By the end of July, oil production in the Kurdistan Region had increased to 183,000 barrels per day, of which 133,000 barrels per day were exported.
A North Oil Company official said exports from the Kurdistan Region could increase to 200,000 barrels per day by the middle of August, provided the security situation remains stable.
The increase forms part of broader efforts to expand exports through the Iraq-Turkey pipeline.
Iraq-Turkey Agreement Supports Expansion
The planned increase comes after Iraq and Turkey agreed on August 1 to export 750,000 barrels of oil per day through Turkish territory to international markets.
Officials expect the agreement to support higher export volumes from both Kirkuk and the Kurdistan Region.
