Information obtained by Channel8 indicates that the incident occurred at around 11:35 PM last night, when a loud explosion was heard across the Zozik, Azadi, and Barkhodan neighborhoods of Soran.

The sound was later traced to a missile that had crashed on Barbas Mountain. The impact sparked a fire across parts of the mountain’s forests and surrounding grass and pasture.

Soran Civil Defense teams responded to the fire with assistance from local residents and managed to bring it under control.

Security forces also reached the site and removed the missile remnants for further examination. Authorities have not yet identified where the missile was launched from or who was responsible.

No casualties have been reported in connection with the incident.
