Following the October 2024 regional parliamentary elections, representatives from the PUK and the New Generation Movement held multiple rounds of dialogue throughout early 2026 to discuss political coordination and legislative strategies.
On July 2, Talabani and Abdulwahid officially signed a political agreement in Slemani, establishing the "Balance and Prosperity Alliance."
