The incident unfolded early Sunday near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire after a local resident reported seeing three white vans and masked men near the military base.

Five British men, all in their 20s and from London, were arrested on suspicion of explosives offences and preparing an act of terrorism. They were subsequently released on police bail but remain under investigation.
