Iran calls for immediate halt to Israeli attacks on Syria at UN meeting

Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeed Iravani, stressed the urgent need to cease Israel’s unlawful assaults on Syria during a session of the United Nations Security Council addressing the Middle East and Syria’s situation.

Iravani firmly denounced the Israeli regime’s military interventions in Syria as provocative and illegal, emphasizing that such actions exacerbate the ongoing crisis in the region.

He called upon Israel to take accountability for its aggressive behavior and demanded an immediate cessation of these actions.

Highlighting the 13th anniversary of the Syrian conflict’s inception, Iravani underscored the immense suffering endured by the Syrian people throughout these years, with far-reaching consequences for regional peace, security, and stability.

The Iranian envoy criticized certain countries for exploiting the Syrian conflict to advance their political agendas through military means, disregarding the fundamental principles outlined in the United Nations Charter.

He condemned these nations for violating Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while extending support to terrorist and separatist factions since the conflict’s onset in 2011.
