Fire claims 9 lives at Qaem Hospital in Iran’s Rasht

A fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday at Qaem Hospital, a private medical facility. The fire resulted in the loss of nine patients, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Local reports indicated that swift action was taken by the fire department and Red Crescent teams, who promptly arrived on the scene to extinguish the fire and oversee the safe evacuation of patients and hospital staff.

According to Tasnim, a news agency affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, the hospital was operating close to its full capacity at the time of the fire, with 142 out of its 250 beds occupied. Subsequently, 118 individuals were rushed to other medical facilities for treatment following the blaze.

As investigations into the cause of the fire are launched by authorities, forensic medicine specialists are meticulously examining the circumstances that led to the tragic fatalities, detailed the Tasnim report.
