Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said on Monday that Israel plans to submit to a United Nations panel evidence linking the UN Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA) to terrorism.

“We will submit all evidence highlighting UNRWA’s ties to terrorism and its harmful effects on regional stability. It is imperative that this committee brings the truth to light,” Katz posted on X.

The US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy, and Finland, among others, halted funding to UNRWA following unspecified allegations from Israel that 12 of its employees were involved in Hamas’s October 7 attacks on Israel.

UNRWA said it has fired several employees following the allegations, but Katz has publicly called on the agency’s chief, Philippe Lazzarini, to resign. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said nine employees were sacked.

The UN chief announced on Monday that a review group will be appointed to conduct an independent external review of UNRWA following the allegations.
