Iran’s foreign minister meets Syrian officials

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has arrived in Syria for talks with his Syrian counterpart Faisal Miqdad.

Abdollahian said he has extended an official invitation to the Syrian president to visit Iran.

Miqdad told a news conference Iran and Syria share a common view on the Gaza issue.

Abdollahian told the conference Syrian and Iranian officials will cooperate more in economic, political and trade fields in the near future.

He also said the Iranian government rejects the presence of foreign troops in Syria and “will not leave any Israeli aggression unanswered.”

The Iranian and Syrian foreign ministers said they agreed Israel has committed war crimes in Gaza and called on Arab and Islamic countries to support the citizens of the territory.
