FYI
The MyAccount initiative is a comprehensive financial inclusion program launched by the Kurdistan Regional Government to transition public sector payrolls from cash to digital banking.
Operating under the guidelines of the Central Bank of Iraq, the project modernizes the financial sector by integrating civilian employees, military personnel, and pensioners into the formal banking system.
Beneficiaries are granted the freedom to select or switch between multiple accredited private and public retail banks participating in the program.
To support this digital transition, the initiative has rapidly expanded the region's financial infrastructure by installing hundreds of ATMs across diverse urban and rural zones.
Ultimately, the project aims to reduce administrative overhead, mitigate cash-handling risks, and foster a broader cashless economy through integrated digital payment platforms.
