Turkish bombing claims lives of two civilians in Iraqi Kurdistan

Two civilians lost their lives and another was left wounded following a bombing on Hawt Tabaqe Mountain in the village of Bariskey, located in the Dinarta district of Akre, as reported by the A the Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT).

The victims have been identified as 41-year-old Saeed Mubarak Zebari, a married Peshmerga, and 29-year-old Araz Faraj Haji, who worked as a doctor’s secretary. Additionally, Salih Mubarak Zebari, the brother of one of the deceased victims, sustained injuries in the attack.

The three individuals, hailing from Dewiki village in Dinarta district, had set out to Hawt Tabaq Mountain that morning for the purpose of collecting spring weeds when tragedy struck.

This incident adds to the toll of casualties resulting from Turkish bombings in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region this year. According to the report, the Turkish state has launched 241 bombings and attacks, resulting in the deaths of four civilians and injuring one other. Alarmingly, all the victims of the Turkish bombings this year are from the Dinarta district of Akre.

The ongoing violence and loss of innocent lives underscore the urgent need for peace and stability in the region, as residents continue to bear the brunt of such tragic events.
