Sulaymaniyah boasts lowest unemployment rate amid trade exhibition

The Sulaymaniyah International Exhibition opened its doors, featuring 100 local and foreign companies in trade and industry.

The Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG) emphasized that such events play a crucial role in fulfilling citizens’ needs.

The second “Made in Iraq” exhibition was inaugurated in Sulaymaniyah, attended by officials from both the Kurdistani and Iraqi governments.

The event includes participation from 100 companies within the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, along with several international firms, and will run for four days.

Kamal Muslim, the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Kurdistan Region highlighted the benefits of hosting exhibitions in Kurdistan, noting they provide citizens with easier access to essential goods.

Sulaymaniyah Governor Haval Abubakr pointed out that the private sector has generated numerous jobs over the past 20 years, employing thousands of young people in the city’s private sector factories.

He also mentioned that Sulaymaniyah has the lowest unemployment rate compared to other regions, according to recent statistics.
