Barzani meets with Senate Armed Services Committee chair in Washington

Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Senator Jack Reed, the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee and Senator Roger Wicker, a senior member of the committee, in Washington on Tuesday.

Both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining peace, security and stability in the Kurdistan Region and the continued support of Peshmerga forces from the United States and the international coalition.

Barzani thanked the US for its assistance and support and stressed the respect for the constitutional and federal structure of the Kurdistan Region.

Reed expressed his appreciation for the struggle and sacrifices of Peshmerga and the Kurdish people.

Barzani and an accompanying high delegation are holding a series of meetings with key US officials this week in Washington.
